Meet Phyllis Choy
Hi, I’m Phyllis, and Jupiter has been my home for 27 years. Working and raising my two children here, I’ve experienced firsthand what makes Jupiter special and why people choose to live here. Yes, we are a beautiful coastal community; however, we are more than that! We offer a quality of life for all residents through our natural environment, amazing recreational and cultural facilities, educational opportunities, world-renowned medical services, and a first-class police department that has created a strong sense of safety for those living in Jupiter.
Throughout these past 27 years, I have been deeply involved in making Jupiter a better place to live, work, and enjoy our unique charm. In my profession, I’ve had the joy of helping countless people find their own piece of Jupiter to call home. I’ve given hundreds of hours volunteering—from working at Jupiter Middle & Jupiter High Schools to delivering meals and collecting over 8,000 new books from friends, neighbors, and families to promote literacy throughout Jupiter and into Palm Beach County. My involvement extends to Jupiter Beach cleanup, providing backpacks for children, supporting the El Sol Resource Center, Habitat for Humanity, and many other philanthropic organizations within Palm Beach County.
This passion led me to my proudest role: serving as vice chair of the Palm Beach County Housing Authority. I was appointed by then-Governor Rick Scott in 2017 and I have overseen policies that help amplify the voices of those in need and ensure they have a safe place to call home.
My commitment to our community goes beyond housing. In 2023, out of its 60,000 members, I was deeply honored to be named “Humanitarian of the Year” by the Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound-Miami Association of Realtors—a recognition that reflects my belief that success is measured “not by who we are” but “by how much we give back.” In October 2024, I was a finalist for “Woman of the Year” with the North County Chamber of Commerce, an honor I deeply cherish.
As a candidate for the Jupiter Town Council, I bring both a mother’s heart and a professional’s expertise. I understand the challenges facing our families, including housing affordability, transportation, safety, fiscal responsibility, and environmental preservation—all while maintaining the small-town charm that drew us here in the first place. I am ready to put my practical and business experience to work for our community.
With your support, I’ll work tirelessly to ensure our town remains a place where families can thrive, businesses can prosper, safety remains a priority, and everyone has a voice in shaping our future.
Thank you for considering me as your voice on the Jupiter Town Council. Together, we can keep Jupiter the special place we’re all proud to call home.
